Maureen Crawford and Kathy Toogood are experienced Canadian educators. As Flow Game hosts, they are drawn to the School of the Forest model as a metaphor for how all genuine learning works: through encounter with what is real, responsive, and not under our control. The forest doesn’t accommodate our lesson plan; we have to learn to read it on its own terms. This is a profound teaching about the kind of attention and humility our relationship with the Earth requires. For this Earth Day gathering, Kathy and Maureen invite you to bring a question about what it would mean to be a lifelong student in the School of the Forest. Consider: “What has unstructured time in nature taught me that formal education never could?” Come curious about what you haven’t yet learned.
